Any student who would like to join the course after 10+2 or equivalent has to undergo three stages to pursue the Company Secretaries Course i.e.,
• Foundation Programme
• Executive Programme; &
• Professional Programme
Any student who would like to join the course after passing the graduation has to undergo two stages of the Company Secretaryship i.e.,
➢ Executive Programme
➢ Professional Programme
Examination for CS Executive Programme is conducted twice in a year- June and December. Executive programme can be pursued by a graduate of all streams except Fine Arts.
APPLICABILITY OF THE SYLLABUS
Recently, ICSI has revised the syllabus for Company Secrertarship Course and made changes in CS Executive Syllabus. The first exam under the new syllabus shall be held in December 2018. Candidates registered effective from 1st March, 2018 shall be examined under the new syllabus 2017. That means if you’ve registered prior to 1st March, 2018 shall be allowed to appear in the executive Programme Examination under the old syllabus 2013 up to and including December, 2019.
Also, Candidates registered prior to 1st March, 2018 will be permitted to appear in the Executive Programme under the new syllabus if they so opt.
SUBJECTS IN CS EXECUTIVE PROGRAMME (NEW SYLLABUS) 2017:
The nomenclature of eight papers of the Executive Programme under the new syllabus are as under:
1. Jurisprudence, Interpretation and General Laws.
2. Company Law.
3. Setting up of Business Entities and Closure.
4. Tax Laws.
5. Corporate & Management Accounting.
6. Securities Laws & Capital Markets.
7. Economic, Business and Commercial Laws.
8. Financial and Strategic Management.
Note: A mandatory pre- Examination test has been introduced for Executive Programme (New Syllabus) as a pre-requisite for seeking enrolment in CS Executive Examination. All the students who have cleared the pre- exam test can get enrolled for the main examination. This test will serve as eligibility criteria for appearing in the main examination. From and including June 2020, Examination for Executive Programme Students shall be held under the new syllabus only.
SUBJECTS IN CS EXECUTIVE PROGRAMME (OLD SYLLABUS APPLICABLE FROM 2013):
The nomenclature of eight papers of the Executive Programme under the old syllabus are as under:
1. Company Law.
2. Cost & Management Accounting.
3. Economic & Commercial Laws.
4. Tax Laws & Practice.
5. Company Accountants and Auditing Practices.
6. Capital Markets and Securities Laws.
7. Industrial, Labour and General Laws.
For the old syllabus, the Institute has Introduced OMR based Examination in the following three subjects of the CS Executive Programme wherein students are required to attain working knowledge, with effect from December 2014 Examination:
✓ Cost and Management Accounting (Module-1)
✓ Tax Laws and Practice (Module-1)
✓ Industrial, Labour and General Laws (Module-2)
In the above three subjects, candidate’s knowledge, competency and proficiency would be examined through objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) under OMR system. However, in the remaining four subjects of the Executive Programme, viz. (i) Company Law, (ii) Economic and Commercial Laws, (iii) Company Accounts and Auditing Practices and (iv) Capital Markets and Securities Laws, candidates would continue to be examined through descriptive exam
